Job summary

Carbonix is seeking a BVLOS Safety Case Analyst to draft, develop and review regulatory submissions for long-range RPAS operations. The role sits in the flight operations team and reports to the Chief Remote Pilot, delivering AusSORA safety cases and supporting evidence to submission standards.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to source operational and technical data, understand CASA requirements, and maintain traceability across all evidence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated working knowledge of JARUS SORA 2.5 and CASA AC 101-06 (AusSORA).
• Proven track record of drafting BVLOS or complex operation applications submitted to a national aviation authority.
• Strong technical writing ability with a clear, traceable safety argument.
• Sound understanding of CASR Part 101 and the ReOC operating framework.
• High attention to detail across evidence traceability and version control.
• Confident communicator across operations and engineering teams.
• Must hold valid working rights in Australia.
• Desirable: CASA Remote Pilot License (RePL) or related license.
• Desirable: Prior crewed aviation license and operational flying experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review AusSORA applications for BVLOS and other complex operations.
• Develop and maintain the supporting evidence set including concept of operations, operational volume and buffer derivations.
• Review submissions and safety case material for regulatory accuracy and evidentiary completeness.
• Track CASA correspondence and close out approvals in revisions.
• Assess airspace risks and coordinate with key stakeholders.
• Source operational, technical and spatial data with flight operations, engineering and GIS teams.
