Job summary

SUBTYPE is a premium retail concept from Colonial Group, seeking an experienced Buyer in Melbourne to shape our premium footwear, apparel and lifestyle offer. You’ll report to the Head of Merchandise and build compelling assortments, balancing brands, trends and street culture with strong commercial focus.

You’ll develop seasonal buying strategies with the Planner, drive stock and Open to Buy, and partner with Marketing and Retail on launches and brand moments.

Qualifications

• Previous buying experience within premium fashion, footwear or streetwear.
• Strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to drive sales, profit and inventory performance.
• A strong understanding of product, brands, customers and street culture.
• Experience managing brand and supplier relationships.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with commercial data.
• Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• A strong product and brand point of view balanced with commercial thinking.
• A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
• A genuine passion for premium fashion, footwear, sneakers and street culture.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Buyer to join the SUBTYPE team.

Reporting to the Head of Merchandise, you'll play a key role in shaping SUBTYPE's product offering across premium footwear, apparel and lifestyle. You'll combine strong commercial thinking with a sharp eye for product, brands and street culture to build relevant, commercially successful assortments.
