Job summary

Harris Farm Markets Pty is seeking a skilled butcher to join our fresh meat team in Australia. You will perform breaking, trimming, portioning and presenting prime cuts while educating junior team members about our standards and customer focus.

Maintain strict cold chain, hygiene and food safety across every shift, and help customers select the right cuts with practical advice. Work is on site in a busy retail environment with a family-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in fresh food retail is preferred.
• Loves food and protein.
• Ability to maintain cold chain and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Break down, bone, portion and prepare meat to Harris Farm specification.
• Produce consistent, accurate cuts, weight, trim and presentation up to standard.
• Prepare value-added products, marinades, skewers, burger patties, sausages, roasts.
• Quality-check every delivery, reject anything that doesn't meet HFM standards.
• Use your trade judgement to minimise waste, turn trim into something sellable.

We are currently searching for our next Butcher!

You prepare, present and sell high-quality protein products to customers. You teach the next generation of Meat Assistants learning under you and you help our customers get the right cut for the occasion, with advice they can't get at a supermarket.

We are looking for someone who loves food and protein, with previous experience working in a fresh food retail business. Additionally, we are looking for someone with:

• Strong communication skills
• Back your Butcher Manager, step up when they're off the floor
• Show new team members the Harris Farm way, not just the technical way
• Maintain cold chain, hygiene and food safety end-to-end, every shift
• Keep blocks, boards, counters and tools spotless, a butcher's station is their reputation
