Job summary

Cement Australia is seeking a part-time, on-site Business Support Officer for our Gladstone team. You will support daily administration, liaise with site reps, and coordinate with SEQ counterparts across the three Central Queensland Ash sites.

The role involves invoicing, supplier management, and SAP tasks to ensure smooth operations. Ideal candidates will have a Cert III/IV in Business Administration, experience in industrial environments, and proficiency in SAP and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Cert III or Cert IV in Business Administration is required or highly regarded.
  • Experience in HR, Safety or similar industrial environment is desirable.
  • Heavy industry operator experience is highly regarded.
  • Basic SAP maintenance and SAP purchasing knowledge.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing local suppliers and contractors.
  • Track invoice details including travel times, hourly rates, scope of works.
  • Assist with management of contractors, activities, and times on site.
  • Liaise with commercial regarding Sundry Invoices.
  • Prepare back up pumping invoices for NRG & Callide.
  • Prepare Weighbridge Invoices for Callide.
  • Liaise with head offices on accounting matters, end of month & quarterly reporting.

Job description

We are looking for our newest Business Support Officer to join our Gladstone Team. Reporting to the CQ Flyash Manager, this part-time, on-site role at NRG Power Station plays a vital part in the daily administration processes of our operations. Your responsibilities will include being a point of contact for business & database-related site issues and will ensure appropriate communications with CA management and Power Station representatives while communicating with SEQ counterparts. The role also provides office support to the three Central Queensland Ash sites at Gladstone, Biloela & Rockhampton.

  • Assist with managing local suppliers and contractors.
  • Track invoice details including, travel times, hourly rates, scope of works
  • Assist with management of contractors, activities, and times on site (Callide/NRG/Rockhampton)
  • Liaise with commercial regarding Sundry Invoices
  • Prepare back up pumping invoices for NRG & Callide
  • Prepare Weighbridge Invoices for Callide
  • Liaise with head offices if required on accounting matters, end of month reporting & quarterly reporting.
  • SAP activities including requisitions, purchase orders, planned execution of PMRs, printing of WOs & uploading completed work packs and goods receiving of materials/invoices.
  • General admin including data entry, re-order of materials e.g. dockets, office supplies and/or stationary
  • Minute taking including Power Station meetings at all sites & internal meetings.
  • Manage external Ash Bulk Bag orders and organise freight logistics. Order bags, pellets and print dockets including MSDS.
  • Manage all site access for inductions and training for site personnel (Darra, NRG, Callide, Stanwell & Contractors) Including management of Rapid Global.
  • Assist with management of subcontract and third-party labour used in the delivery of daily/weekly operational work
  • Supports the manager in development and delivery of budgets.
  • Demonstrate and implement a high degree of strategic thinking and creativity.
  • Assist manager to ensure all Safety, Health, and Environmental Quality policies are complied with.

What You’ll Bring
  • Cert III or Cert IV in Business Administration (Highly Regarded)
  • Previous heavy industry operator experience will be highly regarded
  • Previous experience in HR, Safety, or a similar Industrial Environment role (desirable)
  • Previous experience as an Operator Maintainer in Industry or similar (desirable)
  • Basic to Intermediate SAP Maintenance, SAP Purchasing and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Good ability to communicate clearly & effectively.
  • Ability to work autonomously and a self-starter.
  • Positive approach towards Continuous Improvement and Upgrades
