Job summary

Cement Australia is seeking a dedicated Storeperson for the Bulwer Island site, located about 10 minutes from Pinkenba. You’ll manage spares storage, stock checks, packing and despatch, and provide prompt service to maintenance, production and admin teams.

We value accuracy, forklift competence, and knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems. A safety-first mindset and strong teamwork will help you thrive in our busy heavy-industrial environment.

Job description

We have an opportunity for a dedicated Storeperson to join our Bulwer Island team located about 10 minutes from Pinkenba.

This is a busy and fast paced work environment where you will have a dedicated set of tasks planned out for you to achieve. You'll be on the go and active as you respond to the demands of the site and support our operations to achieve the effective movement and storage of spares. We will support your learning in the way we do things, and you will be a valuable member of our Bulwer Island team.

In this role you will:

• Take a safety first approach and follow SHE principles and standards at all times
• Provide quality control on incoming goods, ensuring spares meet Cement Australia standards
• Check stocks and requisition any requirements
• Pack, document and load goods for despatch to places off site
• Provide store users with prompt, efficient service in a helpful manner
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance, production and administration teams plus visitors and contractors
• Participate in controlling the storage and distribution of annual plant shut down items for minor and major shutdowns
• Ensure parts are labelled and identified correctly before putting into bin locations
• Ensure accurate and efficient stocktakes are completed

The roster for this position is Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

What You'll Bring

• You have a good understanding of storekeeping of warehouse procedures
• You have the ability to work well within a team with great interpersonal and communication skills, while also able to work independently and autonomously
• You have strong computer skills e.g. can use Microsoft Office Suite, Excel etc.
• You have excellent attention to detail and notice the "small stuff"
• Previous experience using SAP or other ERP systems for stores & inventory is advantageous
• You have previous experience in a Storeperson's role, ideally on a heavy industrial site
• Current forklift licence and experience essential
• You have hazardous goods knowledge
• Applicants with Leadership experience will be highly regarded
