Job summary

Ubank is seeking a Risk Enablement Manager (Business) to support first line risk and controls across designated portfolios. You will identify, assess and monitor risks, document KRIs, and help strengthen control environments within an agile, fintech setting in Sydney.

The role partners with Risk Enablement Senior Managers and business stakeholders, requiring 3+ years of risk, assurance or audit experience, strong analytics, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in risk management, assurance, or audit (ideally within financial services).
• Understanding of non-financial risk frameworks, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting risk and control assessments, and incident/issue management.
• Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and develop risk expertise.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the identification and assessment of operational and non-financial risks.
• Assist in delivering first line risk, control, and compliance support across business activities, initiatives, and change programs.
• Manage risk profiling activities, including documenting risks, controls, and key risk indicators (KRIs).
• Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of controls to ensure they are effective and fit-for-purpose.
• Monitor compliance with policies and standards, identifying and escalating risks, gaps, and issues.
• Assist in managing incidents, issues, and remediation actions, ensuring accurate tracking and timely follow-up.
• Contribute to high-quality risk reporting and insights for stakeholders and governance forums.
• Support initiatives to uplift risk awareness and capability across the business.
• Assist with risk governance activities and coordination with second line and assurance teams.
• Build knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry practices, applying these in a practical business context.
