Job summary

Bendigo Bank in Australia invites you to join the Second Line of Accountability as Manager, Technology Risk. This hybrid, permanent role supports technology, cyber and operational risk with hands-on oversight across risk domains.

You will assess controls, advise on risk events, and help business teams navigate digital changes safely, reporting to the Senior Manager, Information Security Risk.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of practical experience in technology risk, IT audit, operational risk, or information security assurance.
• Hands-on experience executing risk-based control assurance and independent technology risk assessments.
• Familiarity with prudential standards (APRA CPS 234, CPS 230) and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT).
• Curiosity, problem solving, and the ability to evaluate risk-versus-reward commercially.
• Strong communication to build trusted relationships and provide constructive challenge.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications; certifications such as CISA/CRISC/Security+ are valued but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and independent review across technology and operational risk domains.
• Assess controls and guide business teams through dynamic digital changes safely.
• Support 2LoA with objective challenge and risk‑profile reporting within a 3LoA model.
• Identify emerging risk trends by connecting people, systems, and processes.
