Job summary

atWork Australia is seeking a skilled BI Analyst to support growing reporting and analytics needs. You will help migrate reporting and data assets from SQL Server to Databricks, design scalable data models, and develop Power BI dashboards to deliver actionable insights.

You will work with stakeholders to gather requirements, implement governance, and drive continuous improvement across reporting, analytics and data management in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks in a reporting/analytics role.
• Power BI dashboards, data models and DAX experience.
• Strong SQL skills in SQL Server environments.
• Ability to design data models for reporting/analytics.
• Understanding BI best practices, data governance and standards.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience on data migration or transformation projects.
• Exposure to Employment Services or large multi-site organisations.
• Tertiary qualifications in IT/BI.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, BI and Finance, you'll play a key role in supporting the organisation's growing reporting and analytics needs. With several concurrent projects underway, you'll help increase team capacity while delivering scalable, high-quality reporting solutions.

This role will focus on:

• Supporting the migration of reporting and data assets from SQL Server to Databricks
• Designing and implementing robust data models that align with BI best practices
• Developing, maintaining and enhancing Power BI dashboards and reports
• Refactoring existing reports to improve usability, performance and governance
• Writing and optimising SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data
• Building DAX measures and semantic models that support business decision-making
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across reporting, analytics and data management functions
• Work to KPIs and performance targets in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Demonstrated experience working with Databricks in a reporting or analytics environment
• Strong Power BI development experience, including dashboards, data models and DAX
• Solid SQL skills with experience working in SQL Server environments
• Experience designing and optimising data models for reporting and analytics
• Strong understanding of BI best practices, data governance and reporting standards
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects and deadlines
• Experience working on data migration or transformation projects
• Exposure to Employment Services, Government contracting, or large multi-site organisations
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business Intelligence or a related discipline
