Job summary

CLR Group Services is seeking an experienced Business Development & Pre-Contracts Manager to work directly alongside the Director and help drive the next stage of growth within our electrical construction business. This is not a traditional estimating role.

We want someone who knows the electrical construction industry, has established industry relationships, can open doors and has a proven ability to turn opportunities into profitable projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience within electrical construction.
• Senior estimating, pre-contracts, business development or commercial experience.
• Proven track record of winning electrical construction projects.
• Established relationships within the NSW construction industry.
• Strong electrical estimating and commercial knowledge.
• Experience managing complex tenders.
• Strong negotiation and client-facing skills.
• Good understanding of labour, materials, margins, contracts and project risk.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of results.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and pursue new electrical construction opportunities.
• Utilise industry network to generate leads and introductions.
• Build relationships with Tier 1 & Tier 2 contractors, builders, OEMs, consultants and end clients.
• Get CLR onto tender lists and in front of key decision-makers.
• Identify negotiated and early-stage opportunities.
• Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documentation.
• Develop pricing and tender strategies.
• Oversee estimates with support from our Junior Estimator.
• Prepare and review commercially sound tender submissions.
• Attend client meetings, tender interviews and negotiations.
• Negotiate scope, exclusions, qualifications and commercial terms.
• Assist with handover of successful projects into delivery.
• Maintain client relationships to generate repeat work and long-term accounts.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

Experience previously running an electrical contracting business, managing a division/business unit or leading an estimating/pre-contracts function would be highly regarded.

Experience and relationships within commercial construction, data centres, industrial, automation/conveyors, water infrastructure, mining/resources, HV/LV, substations or major infrastructure will also be highly regarded.

What We Offer

$180,000–$220,000 + Super, depending on experience, industry relationships and track record.

In addition to your base salary, profit share/performance incentives are available on successfully secured and delivered projects.

For someone who consistently brings profitable work into CLR, there is significant earning potential.

You'll work directly with the Director, have the autonomy to pursue the right opportunities and have the operational resources behind you to turn those opportunities into successful projects.

We're not looking for someone to simply price tenders.
