Job summary

L&F Transfers is seeking an experienced Business Development Officer to identify opportunities, manage tenders and charter quotes, and build strong client relationships across Central and regional Queensland. The role supports operations to ensure viable, profitable services and drives ongoing business growth.

The successful candidate will work with operations to confirm vehicle availability, rostering, scheduling and service delivery while pursuing new markets and maintaining stakeholder

• Experience in business development, sales or account management.

• Experience preparing transport or charter quotes and pricing.
• Experience within the transport industry, particularly passenger transport or similar.
• Strong written communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across Central and regional Queensland.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Identify suitable tender and procurement opportunities and manage submissions.
• Prepare professional tender, proposal and capability submissions.
• Co-ordinate information from internal teams for accurate, competitive bids.
• Prepare and manage charter quotes, including vehicle/driver requirements and pricing.
• Respond to enquiries and follow up on quotes to maximise opportunities.

Job description

L&F Transfers is a growing passenger transport business servicing clients across multiple depots throughout Queensland. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Development Officer to join our team and help identify new opportunities, develop client relationships, manage tender and charter quoting processes, support operations, and drive business growth.

This is a full-time position based in Rockhampton, with travel required throughout the region as necessary.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing tender processes, preparing charter quotes and proposals, and building strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

The role will work closely with Operations to ensure all proposed services are practical, achievable and commercially viable.

Key Responsibilities

• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across Central Queensland and regional Queensland.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
• Identifying suitable tender and procurement opportunities.
• Managing tender platforms, registrations and submission processes.
• Preparing professional tender, proposal and capability submissions.
• Coordinating information from internal teams to prepare accurate and competitive submissions.
• Preparing and managing charter quotes, including reviewing client requirements, determining vehicle and driver requirements, calculating costs and preparing pricing for clients.
• Responding to charter enquiries and following up on quotes to maximise business opportunities.
• Preparing business proposals, presentations and pricing documentation.
• Monitoring market opportunities and industry developments.
• Working with Operations to confirm vehicle availability, driver requirements, scheduling and operational requirements when preparing tenders and charter quotes.

• Supporting the development and implementation of business growth strategies.
• Maintaining accurate records of opportunities, tenders, charter quotes, submissions and client activity.
• Identifying opportunities to convert charter enquiries and tender opportunities into ongoing business relationships.

About You

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised and commercially minded, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

The following experience would be highly regarded:

• Previous experience in business development, sales or account management.
• Experience working with tender platforms and preparing tender submissions.
• Experience preparing transport or charter quotes and pricing.
• Experience within the transport industry, particularly passenger transport, bus/coach operations or similar.
• Previous transport operations experience would be highly advantageous.
• Understanding of transport operations, rostering, fleet requirements, driver requirements and service delivery.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders, quotes, deadlines and business opportunities simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess client requirements and develop practical and commercially viable transport solutions.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider team.
• Current driver's licence.
