Job summary

Avani Cypress Lakes Resort, part of Minor Hotels, is seeking a Business Development Manager - MICE to lead corporate and events sales in the Hunter Valley region. The role involves driving revenue growth, securing new opportunities, and building long-term client partnerships across meetings, incentives, conferences and events.

Based onsite in the Hunter Valley or with regional travel from Sydney, you will work closely with Commercial and Operations teams to grow key accounts and deliver

Qualifications

• Hospitality sales experience, ideally within the MICE or corporate market.
• Proven ability to generate new business and grow key accounts.
• Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience developing and implementing successful sales strategies.

Responsibilities

• Drive corporate and MICE revenue growth through proactive sales activity.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners and industry partners.
• Grow existing accounts and maximise repeat business.
• Conduct client meetings, site inspections and familiarisation visits.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and secure group bookings and events.

Avani Cypress Lakes Resort is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - MICE to grow our corporate, meetings, incentives, conferences and events business.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent a premier resort destination and play a key role in driving revenue growth, securing new business opportunities and building long-term client partnerships.

Location Flexibility

• Candidates based in the Hunter Valley will be based onsite at the resort five days per week.
• Sydney-based candidates can work from our Sydney corporate office, with monthly travel to Avani Cypress Lakes Resort to maintain strong client and operational relationships.

About the Role

Working closely with the Commercial and Operations teams, you will:

• A passion for hospitality, events and creating exceptional client experiences.
