Big Chief Hire is looking for an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to join our team in Burton, SA. This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities, and securing business across the civil, construction, and infrastructure sectors.

About The Role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for generating new business and developing existing customer accounts across South Australia. Working closely with our operations and leadership teams, you’ll identify opportunities, deliver tailored equipment hire solutions, and build long-term partnerships with customers across the industry. This is a field-based role suited to someone who enjoys getting out and meeting customers, developing new opportunities, and taking ownership of their sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities across South Australia.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline within the civil, construction, and infrastructure sectors.
• Drive revenue growth and work towards achieving sales targets.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and industry partners.
• Identify opportunities to grow Big Chief Hire’s presence across major projects and construction sites.
• Manage and grow existing customer accounts and equipment hire opportunities.
• Take ownership of sales performance across your allocated customer base and equipment portfolio.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to generate new leads.Respond to customer enquiries, prepare quotes, and provide tailored hire solutions.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met.
• Contribute to business growth strategies and overall company objectives.

About You

You’re a motivated and results-driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships, winning new business, and working towards targets. You’re confident working independently, comfortable meeting customers in the field, and bring a strong commercial mindset.

• Proven sales experience, ideally within equipment hire, civil construction, earthmoving, or a related industry.
• Demonstrated success in generating new business and growing customer accounts.
