NEC Australia is seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive growth across Government and Enterprise sectors in Canberra and broader region. You will build strategic relationships, identify opportunities, and tailor value propositions to win high-value ICT solutions.

  • 10+ years in a consultative selling role (IT services preferred).
  • Experience in IT Managed Services, BPO, systems integration, security, XaaS, Unified Communications, and digital software solutions.
  • Proven success in complex, long-cycle sales engagements.
  • Ability to influence and engage C-suite executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Autonomous and results-driven in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Extensive industry network and track record of meeting targets.
  • Well-developed strategic thinking, planning, and proposal development capabilities.

Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for building strong client relationships and delivering high‑value solutions? NEC Australia is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our sales team and play a key role in expanding our footprint across Government and Enterprise markets.

About the role

As a Business Development Manager, you will proactively engage with new and existing customers to promote NEC’s broad portfolio of ICT solutions. Operating within a defined geographic region and/or market sector, you will identify opportunities, develop tailored value propositions, and drive sales outcomes aligned to annual targets.

You will work closely with internal teams—including Sales Specialists, Enterprise Architects, Marketing, and Commercial—to develop customer‑centric solutions and long‑term partnerships.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, your key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Build and expand NEC’s customer base across Enterprise and Government sectors.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new sales opportunities aligned with customer needs.
  • Prepare and deliver high‑impact proposals, presentations, and solution recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline with accurate forecasting and documentation.
  • Manage and grow key client relationships to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful solution delivery.
What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 10 plus years’ experience in a consultative selling role, preferably within an IT Services company
  • Demonstrated experience in IT Managed Services, BPO, Systems Integration, Security, XaaS, Unified Communications, Contact Centre environments and digital software solutions.
  • Proven success managing complex, long‑cycle sales engagements.
  • Ability to influence and engage C‑suite executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and drive results in a fast‑paced sales environment.
  • A strong network of industry contacts and a history of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Well‑developed strategic thinking, planning, and proposal development capabilities.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Sales methodology certifications (e.g., SPIN, TAS)
