Job description

Our client is a leading name in the design and manufacture of switchboards and packaged power distribution systems for the commercial, infrastructure, and resources sectors. With a growing product range that includes Australian-designed and manufactured LV and HV power distribution products, they are now seeking a Business Development Manager to join their HV product division.

Role Overview: As the Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth and expanding their market presence in the HV sector. This is a great opportunity to make an impact with a company at the forefront of innovation and excellence in power distribution solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop current customer portfolio within the assigned product line to achieve sales targets.
• Develop and maintain account plans in conjunction with the General Manager.
• Build strong relationships and achieve sales outcomes to meet company objectives.
• Market the company's services and maintain relationships with clients, both new and existing.
• Visit clients locally and interstate regularly.
• Identify new tender opportunities in line with tendering and bid/no-bid processes.
• Assist the estimating team with tender preparation and submission.
• Collaborate closely with supply chain partners.
• Negotiate tenders and follow up on proposals.
• Support project delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and project profitability.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant local experience in sales and business development within the electrical industry.
• Electrical trade qualification or tertiary engineering qualification.
• Proven success in sales.
• Knowledge of high voltage switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and packaged solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Operational management experience is advantageous.
• Ability to work under pressure and extended hours as needed.
• Effective communication at all levels.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
