Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking a Business Development Manager – Service to drive growth across its service portfolio, focusing on high-voltage infrastructure and maintenance. You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to craft practical service solutions and expand service offerings across NSW and beyond.

The role requires technical expertise, strong commercial sense, and the ability to build long-term relationships while traveling to NSW sites and industry events.

Qualifications

  • Electrical trade qualification, Engineering qualification (Electrical) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure, high-voltage systems, maintenance services, or asset management in mining/utilities/energy/industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of HV infrastructure, maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle management and industrial service delivery.
  • Proven ability to identify customer needs and develop practical technical service solutions.
  • Experience developing long-term customer relationships within technical or industrial environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Sound commercial acumen with experience preparing proposals, budgets and forecasts.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across Ampcontrol's service portfolio, with a focus on HV infrastructure and electrical maintenance.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers by understanding their operational challenges and providing technically sound service solutions.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations and service delivery teams to develop tailored maintenance and infrastructure solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer service agreements and long-term maintenance partnerships.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer requirements and emerging technologies to identify new service opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals, forecasts and budgets while maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Support customer presentations, technical discussions and business development activities across key industry sectors.
  • Promote Ampcontrol's technical service capabilities and contribute to the continued growth of the Service business.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager – Service to drive the growth of our Service business by leveraging strong technical expertise, building trusted customer relationships, and identifying opportunities across high-voltage infrastructure, maintenance, and industrial services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional with experience in electrical infrastructure and maintenance to build strong customer relationships, develop practical solutions and contribute to the continued growth of Ampcontrol’s Service business. Based at our North Sydney office, the role offers flexible hybrid working arrangements.

About the Role

As the Business Development Manager – Service, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new service opportunities across Ampcontrol's service portfolio, with a strong focus on high-voltage infrastructure and maintenance services. Working closely with customers and internal teams, you'll expand our service offering, grow market share, and support Ampcontrol's strategic growth objectives.

About You

You are a technically experienced professional with a strong understanding of electrical infrastructure, maintenance services and industrial operations. You enjoy working with customers to solve complex operational challenges and can combine your technical knowledge with commercial awareness to identify and develop long-term service opportunities.

Skills & Experience
  • Electrical trade qualification, Engineering qualification (Electrical or related discipline), or equivalent industry experience. A combination of technical and commercial qualifications will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience within electrical infrastructure, high-voltage systems, maintenance services, or asset management in mining, utilities, energy, heavy industry or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of HV infrastructure, maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle management and industrial service delivery.
  • Proven ability to identify customer needs and develop practical technical service solutions.
  • Experience developing long-term customer relationships within technical or industrial environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work effectively across customers, engineering and operational teams.
  • Sound commercial acumen, including experience preparing proposals, budgets and forecasts.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience within mining, utilities, renewable energy, manufacturing, data centres or other critical infrastructure industries will be highly regarded.

This role requires regular travel across NSW customer sites, project locations and industry events to support customer engagement, technical discussions, business development activities and relationship management.
