Job summary

PEER is seeking a motivated and relationship‑driven Business Development Coordinator to join our Group Training Organisation (GTO) team in South Australia. You’ll reengage inactive Host Employers, drive new business growth in major projects, building and construction, and renewable energy, and connect employers with talented apprentices and trainees.

You’ll strengthen employer relationships, identify workforce opportunities, promote PEER’s apprenticeship, traineeship and training services, and

• Experience in account management, business development, employer engagement or stakeholder relationship management.
• Ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships and strong communication.
• Commercial awareness, highly organised with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with current, inactive and prospective Host Employers.
• Re-engage inactive employers and past PEER graduates to identify new workforce opportunities.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across major projects, building, construction and renewable energy.
• Promote PEER’s apprenticeship, traineeship and training services to prospective employers.
• Represent PEER at industry events and provide responsive customer service.
• Maintain accurate employer records and reporting within PEER systems.

We're looking for a motivated and relationship-driven Business Development Coordinator to join our Group Training Organisation (GTO) team. If you're passionate about building long-term partnerships, delivering exceptional customer service and connecting businesses with talented apprentices and trainees, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with employers across industries including electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning and renewable energy, helping them access the skilled workforce they need while supporting apprentices to thrive.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager – Industry Growth and Engagement, you'll reengage with inactive Host Employers, past graduates and drive new business growth in major projects, building and construction and renewable energy industries, introducing potential host employers to engage with PEER.

Your focus will be on strengthening employer relationships, identifying workforce opportunities and ensuring PEER remains the preferred apprenticeship, traineeship and training partner.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with current, inactive and prospective Host Employers.
• Re-engage inactive employers and past PEER graduates to identify new workforce opportunities.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities across major projects, building, construction and renewable energy.
• Promote PEER’s apprenticeship, traineeship and training services to prospective employers.
• Re-engage inactive employers and grow sustainable apprenticeship opportunities.
• Promote PEER's employment and training services to existing and prospective clients.
• Support employer enquiries and provide responsive customer service.
• Maintain accurate employer records and reporting within PEER systems.
• Represent PEER at industry events, networking opportunities and community engagement activities.

About You

You're someone who enjoys building genuine relationships and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. You are commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.

You'll also bring:

• Experience in account management, business development, employer engagement or stakeholder relationship management.
• A proven ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and business management systems.
• A proactive approach with a genuine commitment to customer service
• Experience within apprenticeships, vocational education and training, group training, construction, trades or related industries will be highly regarded.

What You'll Need

• Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
• Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
• Current Driver's Licence.
• Flexibility to attend employer visits, networking events and occasional after-hours functions.
