Job summary

HWLE Lawyers is seeking a commercially minded Business Development Advisor to join our national Marketing team. Reporting to the Practice Development Lead, you will support the growth and profile of allocated practice groups by providing practical, commercially focused business development and marketing support to our Partners and senior lawyers.

You will play a key role in supporting client pursuits, bids and tenders, capability statements, events, profile-raising initiatives and business

Qualifications

  • Experience in business development, marketing or bids within a professional services environment.
  • Strong writing and editing skills for client-facing content.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work with senior professionals.

The opportunity

We are seeking a commercially minded Business Development Advisor to join our national Marketing team. Reporting to the Practice Development Lead, you will support the growth and profile of allocated practice groups by providing practical, commercially focused business development and marketing support to our Partners and senior lawyers. You will play a key role in supporting client pursuits, bids and tenders, capability statements, events, profile-raising initiatives and business development planning.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in business development, marketing, communications or bids who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and contributing to the growth of a high-performing professional services organisation.

You’ll work with
  • The Practice Development Lead and Business Development Specialists to support the growth and profile of allocated practice groups through strategic business development initiatives.
  • Partners and senior lawyers to identify growth opportunities, profile raising, develop client relationships and support business development planning.
  • Marketing Assistants, Coordinators and Tender Writers to deliver bids, tenders, capability statements, events and other marketing activities.
  • Marketing Communications team members to ensure that external content is clear, accurate, commercially relevant and aligned with the firm’s tone and brand.
  • A broad range of firm stakeholders by providing industry and client insights and a commercial approach that supports informed decision-making.
To succeed in this role, ideally you will have
  • A degree in marketing, business, communications, law or another relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in business development, marketing, communications or bids, within a professional services environment will be favorable.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality client-facing content.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior professionals.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
