Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in marketing, communications, digital content or social media, ideally in professional services.
  • Experience developing communications strategies across channels.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills tailored to audiences.
  • Experience with social media platforms, CMS and EDM/marketing automation tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior professionals.
  • Experience creating visual content using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience editing basic video content for social media.
  • Excellent project management and ability to handle multiple deadlines.

  • Support promotion of firm achievements, appointments, awards, thought leadership and market successes.

  • Assist with delivery of client e-news and digital communications.
  • Maintain and update website content, lawyer profiles and publications.
  • Support reporting and analysis of communications activity, website performance and social media engagement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the national Marketing and Business Development team.

The opportunity

HWLE has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing Communications Advisor to join our national Marketing and Business Development team in Melbourne or Sydney. Reporting to the PR Specialist, this role plays an important part in shaping and delivering internal and external communications that promote the firm's expertise, people and culture. Working closely with Partners, senior lawyers and business services leaders, you will act as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities to raise the firm's profile and ensuring communications support our strategic objectives.

This is a varied and hands-on role that will see you develop engaging content across multiple channels, support firm-wide communication initiatives, contribute to our social media presence and help maintain the firm's digital platforms. You'll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of projects and collaborate with stakeholders nationally. You'll be busy with:

  • Developing and delivering internal and external communications plans and campaigns.
  • Creating engaging content including articles, announcements, social media posts, presentations, video and digital communications.
  • Supporting the promotion of firm achievements, appointments, awards, thought leadership and market successes.
  • Providing communications advice to Partners and business services leaders.
  • Coordinating and publishing content across the firm's social media channels, primarily LinkedIn.
  • Assisting with the delivery of client e-news and digital communications.
  • Maintaining and updating website content, lawyer profiles and publications.
  • Supporting reporting and analysis of communications activity, website performance and social media engagement.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the national Marketing and Business Development team.
To succeed in this role, ideally you'll have
  • 4+ years' experience in marketing, communications, digital content or social media, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering communications strategies, campaigns and content across multiple channels.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to tailor content to different audiences.
  • Experience working with social media platforms, website content management systems and EDM or marketing automation tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise senior professionals and influence outcomes.
  • Experience creating visual content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design platforms.
  • Experience creating and editing basic video content for social media or digital channels.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
  • A proactive, service-oriented approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
