Tactical Tradie is looking for an experienced Business Coach to guide trade business owners across Australia. You will run coaching programs, drive results, and help clients scale their operations while balancing leadership, sales, and personal development.

About Us

Tactical Tradie is a leading education and coaching business helping tradies build thriving businesses — plumbers, sparkies, roofers, and air conditioning, HVAC and refrigeration specialists among them. We help tradies build profitable businesses so they can have both the income and the lifestyle they want for their families.

Founder Tom grew his own plumbing business in Melbourne to over 60 staff in five years, and built Tactical Tradie to hand that playbook to other tradies. Four years on, we’re a full time team of five based in a beautiful office in Minyama on the Sunshine Coast, backed by around ten contractors — coaches, our virtual CFO, VAs and sales closers among them. We run live coaching, member events across the country, and a growing online community — and we’re scaling fast.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Coaching

• Carry a portfolio of trade business owners and own their results
• Run one‑on‑one and group coaching sessions across leadership, financial mastery, sales, marketing, recruitment and personal growth
• Push members to actually implement — not just nod along — because that’s where the results live
• Stay genuinely available to your members between sessions, not just on the call
• Show up fully prepared for every session — resources, agenda and follow‑up sorted
• Attend and help run our live member events around Australia, a few times a year

The Business

• Monitor member engagement and progress, and work with our Client Success function to help members win
• Spot what’s not landing in our coaching model and help the team fix it
• Contribute to the tools, frameworks and resources that help every member get results faster
• Bring what you’re seeing on the ground back to the wider team — the ideas that matter start with the coaches

Who You Are

This is a role for someone with genuine runs on the board:

• You’ve built and run your own business, with staff on the payroll and targets that were actually yours to hit. Trade industry experience is a lovely bonus, but it’s not a dealbreaker
• You’ve coached, mentored or advised other business owners, and you’ve got real stories of the difference it made — not just a certificate on the wall is preferable.
• You’ve managed a team through a genuine growth phase, and you understand the difference between being busy and being profitable

A few other things that'll set you apart:

• You can walk into a set of financials cold and spot the problem within minutes
• People go quiet and listen when you’re talking, without you having to raise your voice
• You’ll tell a member something uncomfortable if it needs saying, and do it in a way that lands
• You chase your own development — reading, courses, mentors — because you enjoy getting better, not because someone’s chasing you to

We’ll be upfront: this one probably won’t suit you if you like a clear brief handed to you each morning, if your business experience is more observed than lived, or if you tend to soften your feedback until it loses its point. If none of that sounds like you, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
