Job summary

Allied Credit is seeking a Business Analyst to join the Technology Solutions division. The role focuses on ensuring stability, functionality and performance of applications, gathering requirements, and delivering effective IT solutions for asset finance initiatives.

You will engage with stakeholders, document needs, and support change management and on-call incident resolution. Responsibilities include modelling business processes, leading workshops, and developing functional specs for IT

Qualifications

We are seeking aBusiness Analyst for a critical role within the Technology Solutions division The role is responsible for ensuring the stability, functionality and performance of software applications within our business, as well as providing business analysis expertise from the asset finance sector. This role is a combination of technical support, detailed analysis and proactive problem-solving to deliver optimal technology solutions that support Allied Credit's business objectives.

The BA will actively engage with stakeholders, gather and document requirements, optimise business processes, and develop application requirements to contribute to the success of various initiatives.

What you will be doing

• Conduct in-depth analysis to identify IT optimisation opportunities within the Asset Finance domain.
• Model and optimise business processes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
• Break down business needs versus wants to deliver impactful solutions.

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate technical and business requirements.
• Develop business cases, process maps, and functional specifications for IT projects.
• Lead and facilitate workshops and meetings to define project scope and objectives.
• Maintain accurate documentation of application configurations, troubleshooting procedures, integrations, and dependencies to support knowledge sharing.

Application Development & Support

• Define requirements for bespoke Applications owned by the Software Development team.
• Perform SQL-based data analysis and validation.
• Support Test planning and activities, as required, to support the development life-cycle of the change.
• Investigate, analyse and diagnose application issues to resolve service desk tickets efficiently with a focus on proactive problem-solving.
• Provide on-call support to ensure seamless operations and business continuity.
• Manage and track incidents through to resolution, ensuring that service level agreements are met.
• Escalate issues and any recommendations for improvements (systems / process) to the SDM where required.

Stakeholder Management

• Ensure solutions meet business needs and are technically feasible.
• Provide regular feedback and progress updates to the Stakeholders.
• Provide input to the SDM and Project Managers on progress, risks, and issues, driving resolution activities.
• Escalate complex or recurring issues to Applications teams or vendors, coordinating updates and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and vendors.

Change Management & Transition Support

• Support business transitions through documentation, training, and change management.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Your background

• Masters in Information Systems with specialisms in Business Analysis, Project Management or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the asset finance industry is essential.
• Familiarity working in a Software Development team.
• Demonstrated expertise in requirements gathering, documentation and process optimisation.
• Proficient in application configuration, testing and change management.
• Comfortable with on-call support and hands‑on troubleshooting.
• Proficient in SQL for data querying and analysis and the Microsoft suite.
• Understanding of IT Security, Governance, Compliance and Risk Management.
• In‑depth understanding of Agile methodologies and quality assurance practices.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical capabilities with the ability to identify discrepancies in data and proactively solve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Collaborative team player with a proactive, self‑starting mindset and a natural inclination towards collaboration, openness, and curiosity.
