Benmax is seeking a Business Analyst to shape growth-driven initiatives within the Strategy Division in Canberra. You will bridge business and technology, turning problems into clearly defined initiatives and business cases.

The role involves discovery, process mapping, and shaping opportunities, with hands-on collaboration across business, technology, and transformation projects. The position offers on-site work in Canberra and opportunities to influence automation and AI-led improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar.
• Strong skills in requirements gathering and process mapping.
• Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation across business and technical teams.
• Ability to structure loosely defined problems.
• Understanding of business applications, data flows and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand problems and outcomes.

• Define business, functional and non-functional requirements and user journeys.

We're growing, and we're looking for a Business Analyst to help shape the initiatives that come with that growth. The role sits in our Strategy Division, working across new business, technology and transformation projects.

About The Role

You'll sit between the business and the technology teams, turning problems and half-formed ideas into something clearly defined enough to build. Some of that work is discovery and process mapping. Some of it is shaping an opportunity well enough to put a business case around it. A lot of it is asking the right questions early so the solution still makes sense when it lands.

Day To Day, You Will

• Lead discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand business problems and outcomes
• Map current and future state processes, and pinpoint pain points, risks and improvement opportunities
• Define business, functional and non-functional requirements, along with process maps and user journeys
• Turn early stage ideas into defined initiatives with clear scope, objectives and business value
• Assess solution options and support business cases, options papers and recommendations
• Work with architects, engineers and technology providers so solutions meet the business need
• Define system integration and data flow requirements, and take part in testing and acceptance
• Support the adoption of automation, AI and emerging technology where it delivers real outcomes

What you'll bring

• Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Systems Analyst or similar
• Strong process analysis, requirements gathering and process mapping skills
• Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills across business and technical teams
• Ability to bring structure to problems that arrive loosely defined
• An understanding of business applications, system integrations, APIs and data flows
• Experience supporting technology implementation or business improvement initiatives
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Curiosity, pragmatism and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively

• Digital transformation and business process improvement
