SOCOTEC US is seeking an experienced Building Enclosure Consultant to design and analyze high-performance building envelopes. You will advise clients on performance, durability and constructability, and oversee field reviews and reports across multiple projects.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in enclosure consulting, licensure, and strong CAD skills. Travel about 30% to client sites and project teams is expected.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of building enclosure consulting and project management experience.
• Registered Architect or Licensed Engineer in WA/CA/CO/AZ/HI/TX/OR/ID/MT/UT preferred.
• Experience with construction documents, bidding and construction administration.
• Familiar with curtain wall, glazing, masonry, roofing and waterproofing.

Responsabilités

• Undertake building enclosure design, detailing and analysis; participate in testing and construction administration.
• Advise clients on performance, constructability and durability of enclosures.
• Conduct field reviews and progress inspections on designated projects.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project reports from proposal to completion.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams; provide cross-functional support.
• Mentor staff and manage project resources and budgets.

Job Description

• Undertake building enclosure design, detailing and analysis, and participate in testing, fabrication and construction administration.
• Advise architects, owners, contractors, developers and property managers (clients) on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
• Conduct/oversee field review and progress inspection on designated projects.
• Conduct/oversee assessment reports for existing structures which may include some root cause analysis and repair recommendations.
• Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity, including existing conditions, in construction progression of work from initial proposal though completion.
• Ensure familiarity with building codes in local markets.
• Advise management on related project performance\key issues, status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion.
• Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job-related management teams
• Produce details via hand sketching and using 2D and 3D CAD packages as required.
• Provide cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed.
• Break down technical needs\deliverable; assist in managing budgetary project requirements.
• Provide manpower updates and resource availability
• Occasional presentation of white paper\case studies to technical teams
• Manage staff or team and foster training\mentoring
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years experience in building enclosure consulting and project management
• Registered Architect/Licensed Engineer in the States of WA, CA, CO, AZ, HI, TX, OR, ID, MT, UT desired.
• Experience with client relations, preparation of construction documents, bidding, and construction administration.
• Experience with quality assurance reviews with construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with detailed-level reviews of Division 07 and 08 submittal and shop drawings.
• Familiar with exterior curtain wall, window wall, glass, masonry, concrete, air-barrier, coating, sealant, and metal panel systems.
• Familiar with roofing and below-grade waterproofing systems.
• Familiar with existing building code and code requirements for remediation within the built environment.
