Job summary

Fire & Rescue NSW is seeking an experienced Lead Broadcast & Production Specialist to lead FRNSW’s broadcast production capability and manage the operation of the FRNSW Media Centre. This role combines technical production expertise with strategic communication to support workforce engagement, operational readiness and emergency communications across NSW.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering high-quality live and pre-recorded broadcast content in a media environment.
• Advanced skills across video and audio production, filming, editing, lighting, graphics and broadcast technologies.
• Experience establishing production standards, governance frameworks and quality assurance processes.
• Strong editorial judgement and the ability to deliver quality outcomes under pressure and within tight timeframes.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide trusted advice to senior leaders.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing contemporary production technology, techniques and workflows.
• The ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and influence positive outcomes.
• Demonstrated professional experience in broadcast production, media production, or digital media.
• Current NSW Driver Licence.
• Ability to work outside normal business hours to support emergency operations and communication activities when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the FRNSW Media Centre and operate cameras, lighting, microphones, audio recording and editing systems.
• Lead the delivery of professional live and pre-recorded broadcast productions that support organisational priorities and communication objectives.
• Establish and continuously improve production standards, governance frameworks, quality assurance processes and workflows.
• Provide authoritative specialist advice to senior leaders and stakeholders on broadcast production, audiovisual systems and emerging technologies.
• Transform complex operational and technical information into engaging, accessible and audience-focused content.
• Build strong relationships across FRNSW and with external partners to support integrated communication outcomes.
• Evaluate and implement emerging broadcast technologies, production techniques and workflow improvements.
• Exercise sound editorial judgement to ensure content is accurate, timely and aligned with operational and organisational objectives.
