Job summary

Charterhouse in Brisbane is seeking a Financial Controller to lead a small finance team and partner with the CFO on reporting, compliance and strategic initiatives in a national construction business.

You’ll drive monthly management accounts, cash flow management and budgeting, working closely with project managers and regulators. A strong accounting background in construction and fluency with MS Office and Jobpac are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting qualifications and demonstrated accounting experience.
• Strong financial reporting and compliance experience.
• Experience with Jobpac highly beneficial.
• Experience in the construction industry - essential.
• Advanced computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite and financial database programs.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and commercial acumen.
• Proven leadership and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small finance team, overseeing management accounts, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Deliver timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reporting.
• Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, including financial statements, tax returns, BAS, fringe benefits tax, payroll tax, WorkCover and portable long service leave.
• Manage cash flow, budget performance and forecasting.
• Oversee the management of equipment and fleet.
• Assist the CFO with reporting on commercial performance and implementing strategy.
• Contribute to improving the business’s financial management capability.
• Develop, monitor and maintain management information systems and procedures.
