Job summary

pitt&sherry is an Australian-owned engineering and environmental consultancy seeking a Bridge Engineer to lead structural design with a focus on bridges. You will design new bridges, assess existing ones and contribute across the project life cycle, including inspections.

The role requires a degree in Structural Engineering, a minimum of 3 years in bridge engineering, and SpaceGASS (mandatory) with Midas Civil preferred, plus experience with AS5100 and Australian bridge standards.

Responsibilities

• Occasional bridge inspections at various locations around Australia.
• Potential project management of small to medium projects over time.

• Contribute to bidding and tender processes when appropriate.

As a Bridge Engineer/ Experienced Bridge Engineer you will thrive on all aspects of structural design with a focus on bridges. This role will see you:

• Undertake the design of new bridges, and the assessment of existing bridges, to meet the program, scope, quality and financial requirements;
• Work on small, medium and large bridge and other structural projects across the life cycle – concept, design & construction, management, assessment and end of life;
• Undertake occasional bridge inspection work at various locations around Australia where required
• Potential project management of small to medium projects over time, if this suits your skills and interests

• Role model our expected quality and OH&S behaviours both within project delivery and on the job.

What you bring:

• Tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of Bridge Engineering experience
• Analysis experience with SpaceGASS (mandatory) and Midas Civil (preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working in Australia, and working with bridge design standard AS5100
• Experience in Road and/or Rail Bridges
• Experience in undertaking Bridge Inspections and a willingness to travel occasionally for inspection work
• Some experience in, and willingness to be involved in writing, pricing and reviewing bids, proposals and tenders
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills.
