Pitt&Sherry is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Hobart team. You will lead structural design efforts on major projects, mentor junior staff and liaise with clients and design teams to deliver practical, compliant solutions.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, plus 15+ years in structural design. Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential for success in our collaborative, flexible work environment.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Hobart. You will contribute to a variety of major infrastructure projects, as well as industrial and commercial developments; whilst providing technical guidance in a range of different structural materials for our junior team members. With offices Australia wide there is plenty of opportunity to collaborate across our multi-disciplinary teams. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

What you bring:

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in structural design
• In depth experience in structural engineering design and already obtained Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineering Status or equivalent
• Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering or higher
• Strong analytical thinking skills and a problem-solving mentality
• Willingness to contribute to technical guidance of junior members through mentoring and checking of technical documentation
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both with colleagues and clients
