Job summary

OSMAC Apprenticeships in North Brisbane is offering a 1st Year Apprentice Bricklayer role. This on-site apprenticeship teaches preparing work areas, laying bricks/blocks, and finishing work while pursuing a nationally recognised qualification.

Ideal candidates are Australian citizens or permanent residents, physically fit, reliable, and motivated to learn. Overtime and travel to sites may be required; successful completion leads to a Certificate III in Bricklaying & Blocklaying.

Qualifications

• Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual construction tasks.
• Sound attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Willing to work overtime and travel to different locations.
• Motivation to succeed in the bricklaying trade and maintain good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas for bricklaying activities.
• Lay bricks and blocks to specification and quality standards.
• Finish work and ensure clean, safe sites.
• Learn bricklaying techniques and progress toward Certificate III.
• Gain exposure to other facets of the residential building trade.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a 1st Year Apprentice Bricklayer for work in North Brisbane. This apprenticeship is a great opportunity to learn bricklaying skills on the job, including preparing work areas, laying bricks/blocks, and finishing work, while working toward a nationally recognised trade qualification.

The successful candidate will also gain exposure to other facets of the building trade with a small family team who work in the residential sector.

To be considered applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

Be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status

Physically fit

Sound attention to detail

Follow instructions well

Be willing to work overtime when required

Be willing to travel to different locations

Have the motivation/drive to succeed in the trade

Can retain information well

Be punctual, reliable and have a good attendance record

Have a positive attitude towards all aspects of the trade
