Job summary

Supagas is seeking an experienced Branch Operations Manager in Australia to ensure branches have the resources and guidance to meet operational goals while upholding safety and compliance standards. You will oversee fleet, WHS, and transport codes to support growth and on-time delivery.

You will drive branch performance, manage customer accounts, and lead a team across multiple sites, focusing on cost control, asset management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Ability to establish productive professional relationships across departments and with customers.
• Drive to achieve goals with persuasive and influential skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organisational and time management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective planning for growth within the branch per KPI.
• Manage existing business accounts including GSA resigns.
• Seek new business for the branch across Supagas product range.
• Support customer retention as required.
• Serve customer walk-ins and collections.
• Efficient management of branch staff operations.
• Identify development needs of staff across branches.
• Plan for growth and continuous improvement.
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers.
• Maximise logistics and yard efficiency.
• Keep delivery costs within budgets.
• Ensure branches have adequate assets (cylinders, gas, vehicles, people).
• Analyse and improve safety and distribution cost-effectiveness.

About the Role

You will be responsible for ensuring branches have sufficient support, resources, and guidance to achieve operational needs and Supagas objectives while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards, maintain the fleet and ensure we meet WH&S and all transport codes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective planning for growth within the branch as per agreed KPI
• Existing business account management including GSA resigns
• Seek new business for Branch in relation to all Supagas product range
• Support in Customer Retention as required
• Serve Customer Walk ins and collections
• Effective and efficient management of the general operations of all branch staff
• Identify strengths and weaknesses and development needs of staff in all branches
• Forward planning for growth and continuous improvement
• Ensure efficient and effective on time delivery to customers
• Maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of logistics and yard operations
• Ensure delivery costs are within budgets
• Make sure all branches have adequate assets such as cylinders, gas, vehicles and people to achieve budget
• Analyse and provide opportunities to improve both safety and cost effectiveness of distribution

Skills and Experiences

About You:

• Minimum 5 years experience working within a similar role
• The ability to establish productive, professional relationships at all levels of the business, including liaising with many departments, customer and potential new customers to achieve outcomes
• Must have the drive to achieve and the ability to persuade and influence others
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Previous experience with Dangerous Goods advantageous
