Job summary

Wannon Water is seeking a Branch Manager Community Trust in Warrnambool. The role leads communications, engagement and customer experience, turning insights into stronger decisions and greater trust.

You will foster collaboration, set strategic direction, and oversee partnerships to deliver service improvements and community impact. The ideal candidate brings tertiary qualifications in communications or related fields, robust leadership experience and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Who we are looking for

Join us as our Branch Manager Community Trust in this ongoing full-time position, based in Warrnambool. This position comes with a generous total remuneration package starting from $185,000 (inclusive of superannuation), dependent on skills and experience.

As Branch Manager Community Trust, you'll lead our approach to communications, engagement and customer experience - helping turn customer insights and feedback into better experiences, stronger decisions and greater trust.

We're looking for a collaborative, relationship-focused leader who connects people and ideas, builds strong partnerships and contributes to a culture where listening, learning and improving are part of how we work.

Job Description

What you'll be doing

On a day-to-day basis, you'll:

  • Lead the Community Trust Branch, setting strategic direction, priorities, resources and performance whilefostering a collaborative, accountable and service-focused culture.
  • Oversee strategic communications, engagement and education, providing trusted advice on reputation, issues, media and stakeholder impacts.
  • Drive customer experience, using customer insights, data and feedback to shape service design, improvement initiatives and customer-centred decision-making.
  • Build strategic organisational partnerships and memberships, strengthening collaboration, shared value, governance and organisational capability.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, community engagement, customer experience, business, social sciences, public policy, management or related discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role. Postgraduate qualifications in a management or relevant specialist discipline will be well regarded.
  • Appropriate experience in communication, engagement, customer experience, stakeholder management, partnerships or related functions is required.
  • Experience in a significant management role is a necessary prerequisite.
  • Experience working with community, government, regulators, media, Traditional Owners, Aboriginal organisations or sector partners will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to guide, support and develop a high-performing team.
  • Pragmatic communicator with high professional integrity, strong organisational skills, and the credibility to influencein a collaborative and inclusive manner.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with sound judgement and the ability to manage priorities.
