Job summary

Tradelink in Sydney is hiring a Branch Assistant to help ensure customers receive the right products on time with excellent service. You will be out on the road for local deliveries and work within a dynamic branch team.

The role offers hands-on learning in stock control, counter sales, and general branch operations, with opportunities for career progression. A valid driver’s license is essential, and plumbing product knowledge is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in plumbing or wholesale/trade sales is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to engage with customers and provide tailored recommendations.
• Hard-working, adaptable team player who contributes to a positive work culture.
• Excellent communication with tradespeople and customers to ensure service quality.
• A valid driver’s license is essential; forklift license is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Completing local same-day deliveries and return runs, including loading and unloading goods.
• Providing friendly customer service in the branch and at customer sites.
• Coordinating deliveries with customers, suppliers and the dispatch team.
• Receiving incoming stock and assisting with stock control and inventory management.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining logbooks.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and branch environment.
• Learning counter sales and order processing as you develop within the role.
• Supporting the team across general branch operations as required.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Industry Experience: Plumbing industry experience or knowledge of plumbing products or wholesale/trade sales experience would be highly beneficial, though not essential.
• Consultative Sales Skills: You should be comfortable engaging with customers and providing tailored recommendations.
• Team Player Attitude: We value hard-working, adaptable team members who contribute to a positive work culture.
• Strong Communication: You’ll be working closely with experienced tradespeople who expect efficient, knowledgeable service.
• A valid driver’s licence is essential, while a forklift licence would be advantageous but is not required.
