Simtech Creations on the Gold Coast is seeking a Brakepress Operator / Sheet Metal Labourer for the afternoon shift. You will set up and operate our CNC brake press, bend and form sheet metal to engineering specs, and assist with fabrication to help meet production schedules.
The ideal candidate will have experience with brake presses or sheet metal, be able to read engineering drawings, and use hand and power tools.

As part of our busy fabrication department, you will play a key role in producing precision sheet metal components used in our custom manufactured products. Your primary responsibility will be setting up and operating our CNC Brake Press, while also working across a range of fabrication, assembly and workshop activities to help meet production schedules.
Set up and operate CNC Brake Press machinery.
Bend and form sheet metal components to engineering specifications.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders and fabrication plans.
Select the correct tooling and machine settings.
Measure and inspect finished components to ensure quality and accuracy.
Grind, deburr and finish fabricated parts.
Assist with general sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
Carry out general workshop and labouring duties.
Operate workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform routine machine maintenance and daily safety checks.
Support other manufacturing departments during busy production periods.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment.
Follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures.
Previous brake press, sheet metal or manufacturing experience will be highly regarded, but it isn’t essential.
Experience operating CNC Brake Press machinery.
Sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing experience.
Experience using hand and power tools.
Ability to read engineering drawings or willingness to learn.
Strong measuring and problem solving skills.
High attention to detail.
Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
Full time, permanent position.
