Job summary

Career Development and Management Guru in Mackay is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Payroll Officer to join a growing advisory firm. The role offers flexible hours, full-time or part-time options, and opportunities for career progression within the firm.

You'll handle bookkeeping, payroll, client support and reporting, while maintaining accurate records and supporting clients with software such as Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping and payroll experience required
• Certificate III or IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting preferred
• Experience using Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
• Strong communication and client service skills
• Positive, proactive and team-oriented attitude
• Ability to learn new systems quickly

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls and ensure compliance
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Complete bank, payroll and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare weekly and monthly management reports
• Respond to client enquiries and provide bookkeeping support
• Maintain accurate financial records and client data
• Assist clients with software and bookkeeping-related queries
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes
• Ensure compliance with payroll and accounting requirements
