Job summary

Peter R Lewis Chartered Accountant in Loganholme, Australia, is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant/Bookkeeper for a part-time role. Whether you bring hands-on bookkeeping experience or are studying, you will work in a supportive, professional environment and grow with the firm.

You will support accountants, assist with daily operations, and learn core bookkeeping and accounting processes while developing your skills in a small, dynamic practice.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience in bookkeeping or administrative roles OR currently studying/completed qualification in accounting/finance.
• Experience with Xero/MYOB/HandiTax/Class is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

We are a small, dynamic firm based in Loganholme specialising in small businesses and self-managed super funds (SMSFs). We provide personalised, high-quality service while fostering long-term professional growth and development within our team.

About the Role

You will play a hands-on role in supporting our accountants and ensuring the practice runs smoothly day-to-day.

Responsibilities include

• Assisting with day-to-day office and administrative operations.

• Supporting accountants with client-related tasks and correspondence.

• Performing data entry, preparing documents, and managing files.

• Learning and applying fundamental bookkeeping and accounting processes.

Skills and Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is essential.

• Either practical experience in bookkeeping/administrative roles OR currently studying/recently completed a qualification in accounting, finance or a related field.

• Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, HandiTax or Class is highly beneficial but not strictly required.

• Strong Organisational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.

• An Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a growing firm.
