Job summary

Engineeringtradesaustralia is recruiting a qualified Boilermaker for a long-term, ongoing project in the Wollongong region of NSW. The role focuses on the BlueScope Blast Furnace 5/6 upgrade at Port Kembla, working with a skilled team on a major industrial installation.

You will fabricate, weld and fit structural steel, read drawings, and work at heights and in confined spaces as required. A stable, long-term opportunity with penalties on site hours is offered.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Boilermaker with relevant licences.
• White Card, Working at Heights, Confined Space, EWP, Rigging/Dogging.
• Own basic tools and PAPR welding shield.
• Experience in heavy industrial or steel plant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit and weld structural steel, plate and pipework for the upgrade.
• Read engineering drawings and work orders.
• Cut and fit plate and steel sections to specification.
• Carry out repairs and modifications to plant structures and equipment.
• Work at heights, on scaffolds and in confined spaces as required.
• Complete isolations, permits and job cards per site procedures.
• Collaborate with other trades on the upgrade team.
• Adhere to all BlueScope safety and quality requirements.

Long term opportunity for Boilermakers to join a significant piece of work in the Wollongong region of NSW

I'm looking for qualified Boilermakers to join a mechanical contractor working across BlueScope Steel sites, with the majority of work based at Port Kembla on the Blast Furnace 5 and 6 upgrades. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Boilermaker looking for long-term, ongoing work on a major industrial project.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, and weld structural steel, plate, and pipework as part of the upgrade
• Read and work from engineering drawings and work orders
• Cut, shape, and fit plate and steel sections to specification
• Carry out repairs and modifications to plant structures and equipment
• Work from heights, scaffolds, and in confined spaces as required
• Complete isolations, permits, and job cards to site procedures
• Work alongside other trades as part of the broader upgrade crew
• Follow all BlueScope site safety, environmental, and quality requirements

Licences/Experience Required

• Trade qualified Boilermaker
• Relevant licences and tickets (e.g. White Card, Working at Heights, Confined Space, EWP, Rigging/Dogging)
• Own basic tools
• Own PAPR welding shield
• Previous heavy industrial or steel plant experience highly regarded
