Zoom Recruitment, in Laverton, VIC, seeks a Boilermaker for a six‑month temp‑to‑perm role with a Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm shift. Earn $66.12/hr plus 16.5% super and income protection, with Mondays to Fridays on days and a stable roster.

You will perform TIG, MIG and ARC welding, read drawings, fabricate and repair steel components, and support shutdowns and maintenance while upholding safety standards.

Competenze

• Heavy industry experience in steel manufacturing, smelting, mining or similar.
• Boilermaker trade qualification is required.
• Proficiency in TIG, MIG and ARC welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to specifications.

The Opportunity

Join the Rolling Mills maintenance team at one of Australia’s leading steel manufacturers. From equipment repairs to fabrication and shutdown work, you’ll use your trade skills to keep a busy industrial operation moving.

This is a six-month temporary assignment with a view to permanent employment, subject to performance and business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing

• TIG, MIG and ARC welding across plant maintenance and fabrication tasks.
• Repairing and replacing steel components, guards, chutes, hoppers and brackets.
• Reading engineering drawings to cut, fabricate and assemble components accurately.
• Oxy cutting, grinding, preparing and finishing steel.
• Supporting breakdown repairs, planned maintenance and shutdowns.
• Working alongside mechanical fitters to improve equipment safety and reliability.
• Following isolation, hot work permit and site safety procedures.

What You’ll Bring

• A recognised Boilermaker trade qualification.
• Essential hands-on experience in heavy industry-steel manufacturing, smelting, mining, quarrying or similar heavy fixed plant operations.
• Proven proficiency in all three welding methods: TIG, MIG and ARC.
• Strong fabrication and equipment repair skills.
• Confidence interpreting engineering drawings and working to specifications.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and a strong commitment to safety.
• Forklift, dogging, rigging or overhead crane credentials are advantageous.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and pass a full pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, physical assessment and relevant trade/aptitude testing.
