Job summary

Heavy Maintenance Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Boilermaker/Fabricator for Thiess Component Rebuild Centre in Darra, Queensland. This casual to full-time, on-site role involves fabricating and assembling components to engineering specs, reading drawings, and using welding equipment.

You will work with MIG, TIG and stick welding, perform quality checks, maintain safety and collaborate to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Australian resident/Permit to work.
• Welding tickets; Boilermaking/Fabrication qualifications.
• Boilermaking or fabrication qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in workshop boilermaking and welding tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications.
• Proficient MIG, TIG and stick welding techniques.
• Knowledge of cutting, forming and joining methods in boiler fabrication.
• Experience with workshop machinery and equipment.

Boilermaker Fabricator Component Workshop

Heavy Maintenance Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Boilermaker/Fabricator for Thiess Component Rebuild Centre in Darra, Queensland. This is a Casual to full-time position based on-site at Thiess workshop facility. As a Boilermaker Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in the fabrication and assembly of high-quality components, contributing directly to the delivery of our products and services to clients across the industrial and maintenance sectors.

What you'll be doing

Fabricating components using welding, cutting, forming and joining techniques in accordance with engineering specifications and industry standards

Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work instructions to ensure accurate component production

Operating and maintaining workshop equipment including welding apparatus, cutting machines, presses, overhead cranes, fork lifts and other fabrication tools

Performing quality checks on components throughout the fabrication process to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications

Assembling and sub-assembling sections and related components in a methodical and efficient manner

Preparing materials and components for subsequent stages of production or client delivery

Maintaining a safe and clean workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations

Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and deadlines

Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and providing feedback on processes and equipment

What we're looking for

Australian resident/Permit to work

Relevant certifications such as welding tickets, Boilermaking/Fabrication qualifications.

Formal qualification in Boilermaking, fabrication or a related trade, or equivalent demonstrated experience in component fabrication

Proven experience working in a workshop environment performing boilermaking and welding tasks

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

Strong competency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG and stick welding as applicable to boilermaking

Sound knowledge of cutting, forming and joining methods used in boiler fabrication

Experience with workshop machinery and equipment commonly used in fabrication environments

Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety practices and procedures

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to precise specifications

Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to work effectively within a team environment
