Thiess is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join the Caval Ridge Mine maintenance team. You will perform welding, fabrication and structural repairs on large-scale mining equipment, ensuring reliability and safety on site.

We expect a trade certificate in engineering fabrication and strong experience with heavy equipment. An HR licence is valued, and a Standard 11 health and safety requirement applies. Excellent roster and camp-style accommodations are offered.

Formación

• Trade certificate in engineering fabrication or equivalent.
• Experience performing welding, gouging and heavy fabrication.
• Mining exposure: heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator environments.
• HR licence is highly regarded and safety-minded.
• Current Standard 11 is required and emphasised.

Responsabilidades

• Perform bucket and tray repairs, and structural maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Repair structural chassis on HME fleets to ensure reliability.
• Fabricate, weld, gouge and repair to a high standard.
• Conduct inspections and complete maintenance documentation.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and support a safe, productive team environment.
• Collaborate with maintenance crew to achieve planned maintenance.

The Opportunity

Are you a trade-qualified Boilermaker with strong welding and fabrication experience and a passion for maintaining large-scale mining equipment? Thiess is seeking an experienced and motivated Boilermaker to join our high-performing maintenance team at Caval Ridge Mine.

As a key member of the Caval Ridge Maintenance team, you'll play an important role in maintaining plant safely and efficiently while supporting equipment reliability and operational performance across site.

Roster

7/7 Rotating Days & Nights | Location: Caval Ridge Mine, QLD | Employment Type: Permanent Full Time

As th e Boilermaker, you will:

• Perform bucket and tray repairs, repairs and structural maintenance activities.
• Be responsible for completing structural chassis repairs on our HME fleets.
• Complete fabrication, welding, gouging and repair work to a high standard.
• Conduct inspections and complete accurate maintenance documentation to maximise equipment utilisation and reliability.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and contribute to a safe, productive team environment.
• Work collaboratively with the maintenance crew to achieve planned maintenance

About you

• Trade Certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience performing welding, gouging, cutting and heavy fabrication work.
• Post-trade experience within mining, heavy earthmoving or hydraulic excavator environments.
• Experience working on mobile mining equipment and heavy structural repairs.
• Current Driver's Licence (HR Licence highly regarded).
• Current Standard 11.
• Strong commitment to safety, teamwork and quality workmanship.
