Job summary

Barminco invites applications for an Underground Boilermaker to support underground mining operations in Western Australia. You will perform welding, fabrication, and maintenance on mining equipment and ensure safety and compliance across the fleet.

The role requires experience as an underground boilermaker, strong MIG/STICK/Flux Core welding skills, and the ability to read technical drawings. FIFO/DIDO options may apply, with comprehensive site access requirements fulfilled.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Underground Boilermaker in mining preferred.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills (MIG, Stick, Flux Core).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Ability to meet site access requirements (medical, DAS, NPC, and valid Manual Driver's Licence).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on mobile plant and fixed equipment.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair buckets, booms, trays, guards, and other critical components.
• Conduct crack testing, gouging, and rebuilds to OEM and site standards.
• Complete pre-start checks and ensure equipment is safe and compliant for operation.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and report defects or hazards.
• Work closely with maintenance teams and supervisors to minimise equipment downtime.

Join the Barminco team as anUnderground Boilermaker and support our underground mining operations in Western Australia.

You’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality fabrication, welding, and maintenance services across our fleet of underground mining equipment.

Roster: 7/7 day shift only

What will your day to day look like?

• Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment and infrastructure
• Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on mobile plant and fixed equipment
• Inspect, maintain, and repair buckets, booms, trays, guards, and other critical components
• Conduct crack testing, gouging, and rebuilds to OEM and site standards
• Complete pre-start checks and ensure equipment is safe and compliant for operation
• Accurately record maintenance activities and report defects or hazards
• Work closely with maintenance teams and supervisors to minimise equipment downtime

Our ideal candidate background includes

• Previous experience working as an Underground Boilermaker (mining experience highly regarded)
• Strong welding and fabrication skills (MIG, Stick, Flux Core experience preferred)
  Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence)
