Job summary

Barminco is seeking an Underground Boilermaker to support our mining operations in Western Australia. You will join a safety-focused team, perform maintenance and repairs on underground mobile plant, and contribute to reliable, compliant equipment performance.

Key duties include welding, fabrication, inspections of buckets and frames, reading technical drawings, and completing pre-start checks. FIFO/DIDO options and career development opportunities await the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Underground Boilermaker with mining experience preferred.
• Strong welding and fabrication skills (MIG, Stick, Flux Core).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Must meet site access requirements (medical, DAS, NPC & valid Manual Driver's Licence).

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and breakdown maintenance on underground mining equipment and infrastructure.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and structural repairs on mobile plant and fixed equipment.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair buckets, booms, trays, guards, and other critical components.
• Conduct crack testing, gouging, and rebuilds to OEM and site standards.
• Complete pre-start checks and ensure equipment is safe and compliant for operation.
• Accurately record maintenance activities and report defects or hazards.
• Work closely with maintenance teams and supervisors to minimise equipment downtime.
