Job summary

MSF Sugar is a leading Australian sugar producer recruiting a Boilermaker for a seasonal contract at the Tableland Mill, about 25km west of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands. The role covers maintenance, fabrication and repair across factory equipment, supporting safe, efficient production.

You will interpret drawings, weld and fabricate to high standards, and work with a dedicated maintenance team. Applicants should have a Boilermaker qualification and sugar-industry experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or equivalent.
• Experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments (sugar industry preferred).
• Strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and a team player.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and fabrication on plant and equipment.
• Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications.
• Carry out welding, cutting, and grinding tasks to a high standard.
• Inspect equipment and identify faults or wear issues.
• Contribute to planned maintenance and shutdown activities.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety and compliance requirements.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with other trades and production staff.
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

MSF Sugar is a leading Australian sugar producer and renewable energy. With over 125 years of history, we are a dynamic and forward-thinking company focused on operational excellence, sustainability and innovation. Based in Far North Queensland and part of the global Mitr Phol Group, we operate three sugar mills, extensive farming assets, and a renewable power station producing green energy from bagasse.

The Role

MSF Sugar is seeking a skilled and motivated Boilermaker to join our team on a seasonal contract until the end of the 2026 crushing season. This opportunity is located at our Tableland Mill, which is approximately 25km west of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands.

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, fabrication, and repair work across a range of factory equipment and infrastructure. You’ll work closely with a dedicated maintenance team to support safe and efficient production outcomes.
