Job summary

Sunshine Sugar is offering an Apprenticeship for 2027 in Boilermaker at Broadwater Mill. The program provides structured on-the-job training with experienced tradespeople, covering fabrication, welding and equipment operation.

You will gain hands-on experience and work toward a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication, with weekly TAFE attendance. Successful candidates will join a supportive team, learn on a diverse range of industrial equipment unique to a sugar mill,

• Completion of high school (or completion prior to start of the apprenticeship) with a commitment to learning.
• Good mechanical aptitude and an interest in practical, hands-on work.
• Willingness to follow directions and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to produce fabricated metal products such as structures, frames, plate assemblies, pipework and vessels using fabrication techniques, welding processes and thermal cutting equipment.
• Use a wide range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment including drills, grinders, benders and lifting equipment.
• Receive structured on-the-job training and support from experienced tradespeople to help you develop the skills required to become a qualified Boilermaker.
• Upon completion, obtain a nationally recognised trade Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication.

Apprenticeship 2027 - Boilermaker - Broadwater Mill

We are an Australian owned sugar milling and refining company operates 3 sugar mills and a refinery in the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Proud to be one of the region's largest agricultural and manufacturing employers, providing employment to more than 350 people directly and supporting a further 2,500 jobs across the local industry. The region, known for its stunning beaches, rivers, fishing and natural wonders extends across seven shires including Tweed, Byron Bay, Ballina and the Clarence Valley. About the role

As a Sunshine Sugar Apprentice Boilermaker, you will receive structured on-the-job training and support from experienced tradespeople to help you develop the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified Boilermaker.

You will learn to produce fabricated metal products such as structures, frames, plate assemblies, pipework and vessels using fabrication techniques, welding processes and thermal cutting equipment. You will also learn to use a wide range of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment including drills, grinders, benders and lifting equipment.

Upon completion, you will receive a nationally recognised trade Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication. Sunshine Sugar provides a structured process with workplace-based training, supported by attendance at a local TAFE one day per week.
