Job summary

Johnson Controls Brisbane is seeking an experienced BMS Technician to join our Queensland Service Team. You will maintain, troubleshoot and optimise building automation systems across diverse client sites, delivering high-quality service.

You will work under a national technical support network, with ongoing training, a fully maintained company vehicle, and opportunities to develop into senior technical, engineering, project, or leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience in Building Automation, BMS, or Building Controls.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical services.
• Experience diagnosing and servicing BMS controls and field devices.
• Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect Licence (essential).
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.

Responsibilities

• Perform service, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on Building Management Systems (BMS) and associated HVAC control systems
• Diagnose and resolve complex system and communication faults
• Deliver contract servicing and reactive breakdown support
• Conduct system performance analysis and optimisation
• Prepare quotations and manage small upgrade projects
• Commission and validate control system modifications
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through technical expertise and responsive service
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards

This role is ideal for a seasoned BMS professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working across diverse customer sites, and building trusted relationships with clients. You'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising sophisticated building automation systems that support mission-critical operations.

We're looking for an experienced technician who is passionate about technology, customer service, and delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Minimum 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience in Building Automation, BMS, or Building Controls
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical services
• Experience diagnosing and servicing BMS controls and field devices
• Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect Licence (essential)
• Strong IT, networking, and system integration skills
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding capability
• A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
