Job summary

Kareela Aviation, a Sydney-based helicopter maintenance organisation, invites an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join their team at Bankstown Aerodrome NSW. You will support safe, efficient maintenance of BK117 helicopter fleet, including working on turbine-powered helis, with emphasis on documentation and CASA-compliant procedures.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years’ helicopter maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ helicopter maintenance experience.
• Experience on turbine-powered helicopters.
• Able to obtain and maintain an ASIC.
• Strong aviation safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Kareela Aviation is a Sydney-based helicopter maintenance organisation specialising in the maintenance and support of BK117 helicopters.

About the role

As an AME, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient maintenance of various helicopters, including Helitreck’s aerial fire fighting fleet of BK117’s.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting scheduled and unscheduled helicopter maintenance
• Carrying out inspections, servicing and defect rectification
• Fault finding and troubleshooting
• Assisting with component removal, installation and maintenance
• Completing accurate maintenance documentation and records
• Working in accordance with CASA requirements, approved maintenance data and company procedures
• Supporting maintenance activities at remote and regional locations when required
• Working collaboratively with other maintenance and operational personnel

About you

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in helicopter maintenance
• Previous experience working on turbine-powered helicopters
• A strong commitment to aviation safety and quality workmanship
• Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• The ability to accurately complete maintenance documentation
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• A reliable, organised and self-motivated approach to your work
• The ability and willingness to work at remote and regional locations when required
• The ability to obtain and maintain an ASIC
