Job summary

Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry in Sydney is seeking a Tester to ensure digital systems meet business and technical requirements through planning, executing and reporting testing across releases.

You will identify defects, assess risk, verify fixes with regression and end-to-end testing, and work within test automation frameworks to develop automated scripts using Azure DevOps, Tosca or Playwright where applicable.

• Knowledge of testing methodologies and accessibility requirements.
• Ability to build strong cross-team relationships across stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
• Experience supervising and leading staff in an effective and positive manner.
• Experience working within public sector ICT or service delivery environments.
• Experience supporting digital, ICT or service delivery reforms.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, create test plans, cases and data.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, usability and security testing.
• Test updates and maintenance of biosecurity systems across environments.
• Test enterprise applications using various server technologies (.NET, SQL, Centura, Delphi, C++).
• Develop and execute manual test suites in Azure DevOps; use Tosca/Playwright where applicable.
• Collaborate with agile delivery teams to understand testing requirements.
• Apply risk-based testing, traceability and evidence-based validation.
• Produce and report testing artefacts and defect reports.
• Test SOAP and REST web services for internal integrations.
• Manage defects per departmental processes.
