The Digital Business Division (DBD) delivers digital products and services across DAFF, including export and biosecurity regulation, operations and compliance, as well as corporate areas. The division is focussed on modernising DAFF’s digital capabilities and delivering substantial digital business and service reforms across exports and biosecurity for the department and industry. We collaborate across Government to promote sharing and re-use of digital products, tools and capabilities.
The Digital Solutions and Enablement (DSE) Branch provides retail digital and data services for a range of different business areas across the Biosecurity and Compliance Group. The branch operates in an agile and continually evolving digital and data environment which has unique challenges and opportunities. The branch is highly connected and integrated with relevant business areas in Biosecurity and Compliance.
The Biosecurity Integrated Information System (BIIS) Operations and Self-assessed Clearance (SAC) Systems (BOSS) Section is responsible for the sustainment, technical change, and operational support of the department’s core import and SAC systems, including the Import Management System (IMS) and Document Lodgement Service (DLS). The section manages BIIS Platform releases, security and integration with broader digital programs, working closely with business and delivery partners to ensure stable and compliant operations.
The Digital Identity and Account Team is responsible for designing, delivering, governing and operating DAFF’s external digital identity, account and access management capabilities. The team provides the platforms, services and policies that enable customers to securely access DAFF digital services, manage their identities and business relationships and act on behalf of individuals or organisations. This includes customer authentication, multi-factor authentication, access and authorisation management, customer accounts and profiles, digital identity governance and integration with whole-of-government digital identity services. The team works across the department to ensure identity services are secure, compliant, reusable and provide a consistent customer experience across DAFF’s digital channels.
The Tester ensures digital systems meet business and technical requirements by planning, executing and reporting on testing to support stable releases and quality outcomes. They identify defects, assess risk and verify fixes through regression and end-to-end testing. Working within test automation frameworks they select tools, develop and maintain automated scripts and conduct technical testing to current standards. Testers collaborate with developers, analysts, vendors and change teams to resolve issues, maintain testing records, adapt to Agile or Waterfall delivery and align delivery capacity with business expectations.
