Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a proactive Research Infrastructure and Biobanking Officer to provide administrative and coordination support for research infrastructure and biobanking activities in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. The role focuses on day-to-day administration, stakeholder communication, and coordination of activities that support the Faculty’s research environment.

Qualifications

• Proactive and organised with strong administrative and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating meetings and logistics across research projects.
• Familiarity with research infrastructure, laboratory equipment or biobanking activities.
• Ability to liaise with diverse internal and external stakeholders in a research setting.
• Experience working in a laboratory, medical research or scientific research environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support, including emails and drafting documents.
• Coordinate meetings: scheduling, agendas, minutes, actions follow-up.
• Communicate with researchers, lab personnel, vendors and service providers.
• Coordinate research infrastructure activities: vendor visits, equipment installations, logistics.
• Assist with organizing laboratory space for equipment installations and activities.
• Facilitate lab activities by coordinating access and schedules.
• Maintain records and documentation for infrastructure and biobanking operations.
• Provide general coordination to support Faculty research activities.
