Job summary

The University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking a Research Infrastructure and Biobanking Officer to provide administrative and coordination support for research infrastructure and biobanking activities.

This casual role focuses on admin, stakeholder communication and coordination, helping with equipment installations, site visits and ensuring laboratory spaces are ready for planned activities.

Qualifications

• Proactive, organised with strong admin and communication skills.
• Able to liaise with diverse stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to draft documents.
• Bachelor's degree or PhD in a relevant discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support, including emails, drafting documents.
• Coordinate meetings: scheduling, agendas, minutes and follow-ups.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders including researchers, lab staff and vendors.
• Coordinate research infrastructure activities: vendor visits, equipment installations and schedules.
• Assist with organising laboratory space for equipment installations and activities.
• Facilitate lab activities by coordinating access, schedules and logistics.
• Maintain records and documentation for research infrastructure and biobanking operations.
• Provide general coordination to support Faculty research activities.
