Career Legal, a London-based solicitors firm specializing in crime, family law and human rights, seeks a Billing Manager to join the Finance team. You will oversee end-to-end billing, drive efficiency, and ensure accurate entry of billing transactions.

The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and extensive experience with legal billing processes. You will work closely with the Finance Director to improve WIP recovery, implement best practices, and ensure adherence to VAT, GDPR,

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years legal billing experience.
• Experience with Inter-Partes billing, Private billing, and Legal Aid/Legal Help billing processes.

Responsabilités

• Oversee the end-to-end billing process, including billing and collection efforts.
• Work with the Finance Director to ensure accurate and timely entry of billing transactions.
• Provide guidance on all aspects of the firm's billing processes.
• Produce and circulate billing data (WIP, metrics, targets) to drive performance.
• Drive recovery of WIP and accelerate conversion of WIP to billable fees and cash collections.
• Coordinate with Billing Team to implement billing best practices and improve efficiency.
• Review processes and lead delivery of improvements.
• Document and keep processes up to date for audits.
• Ensure financial controls and firm policies are followed.
• Coordinate with Accounts Team to maintain open communication lines.
• Maintain service levels and high quality of work.
• Meet month- and year-end deadlines.
