Job summary

Metro North Health is seeking a Billing Support Officer for the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital to support outpatient billing through accurate data processing and compliant referrals. You will generate Own Source Revenue by validating referrals, preparing and submitting outpatient accounts, and liaising with patients and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth revenue flow.

Join the Centralised Billing Team and play a key role in supporting hospital revenue and patient services through accurate billing, referral management and data processing while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance across outpatient services.

About the role

The Billing Support Officer plays an important role within the Centralised Billing Team at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital by supporting the generation of Own Source Revenue through the accurate and compliant processing of outpatient billing activities. The role is responsible for ensuring valid referrals are obtained, outpatient accounts are correctly prepared and submitted, and billing processes align with relevant Medicare and Department of Veterans' Affairs requirements.

The successful candidate will undertake high-volume data entry, manage billing documentation, process outpatient accounts, and liaise with patients and stakeholders while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. Working closely with the Central Billing Team, the role contributes to efficient revenue management and supports the delivery of high-quality administrative and customer service outcomes.
