Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Australia to lead bids and tenders and manage the full project lifecycle. You will ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards, collaborating with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

The role requires strong planning, risk, and cost management, with proven ability to navigate tender specifications and commercial contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Project Manager role.
• Demonstrated experience in project and contract management.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, project controls, cost management, and risk management.
• Experience interpreting tender specifications and commercial contracts.
• Proven ability to negotiate contract variations and resolve commercial issues.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams within a matrix organisation.
• A strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement stakeholder groups
• Ability to travel interstate and internationally as required

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex projects from initiation through to completion.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Ensure project risks are identified, assessed, and effectively managed.
• Drive project performance through strong commercial and contract management practices.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of business processes and project governance frameworks
